Tokki DIYs: My first attempt at making a 'Giant Crepe Paper Flower'

I had some free time to finally give this 'Giant Crepe Paper Flower' a try!

My gigantic paper flower <3

It's been awhile since I last did some Arts & Craft, so it surely was a fun thing to do!

Anything that relates to art is always something that goes well with me! <3

Art & Music are the things that make my life colorful :)

So, I went to the mall to gather the materials needed for this project,

1) Martha Stewarts's Crepe Paper Flower Template (Click here to download)
2) Crepe Paper (Popular Bookstore has many colors of crepe papers available from RM0.60 to RM1.00)
3) Floral Tape (My brother got it for me when he visited Masjid India)
4) Floral wire (Masjid India)
5) Hot Glue Gun (My brother has a workshop, so it's pretty equipped with the things I need for crafting. Thank you, bro Shaz!)
6) Hot Glue Refills
7) Ruler
8) Pencil
9) Eraser
10) Scissors
11) Vanguard Sheet/Board
12) 4 sheets of paper (Not in picture)
13) Cloth Pins (Not in picture)

Tried to look for materials in Kaison but they don't have anything that I needed.
I'll let the pictures do most of the talking okay! (^_^)b
A tip I could tell you, that I didn't do, is to trace these hard templates to a softer sheet of paper (4 sheets of paper), so you could pin them to the crepe paper and easily cut them neatly.

Make sure to give these petals the realistic look of a fresh flower petal. What you can do is to take a pencil/pen to curl the petals nicely and have your fingers to gently pull the center part of the petal outwards to give it a cupping effect.

I honestly think this is the most tiring bit to do, gets boring after a while. LOL!

But DON'T GIVE UP, OKAY!

I gathered a few strands of floral wire (like 4-5) and taped it together to make a nice solid flower stem.

AND TA-DA!

Here is my 'Giant Crepe Paper Flower!\\(*^__^*)//

Not bad for my very first attempt. It could have been worse, trust me! The preparation was a lot to do but since I have the templates drawn and cut out to a firmer sheet of board. It should be okay the next time I want to do more!

Will try to keep practising! XP

Tiff
